As NCP Charter celebrates its 30th anniversary, we reflect on an exciting and transformative journey. What began in 1995 as a bold vision by Goran Prgin, Ivo Skorić, Ivan Pancirov, and their partner Andrej Čeč has grown into a powerhouse of nautical expertise, luxury yachts, and unparalleled yacht charter and charter management services. By constantly adapting to the rapidly changing business environment, NCP Charter has not only kept up but has led the way in the Croatian yacht charter industry.
A Unique Beginning
From the very start, NCP Charter set itself apart by offering something different. From day one, we selected unique boats and focused on providing the highest standard of service.
Our fleet was built with an emphasis on uniqueness, luxury, and performance, starting with renowned British motor yacht brands like Sunseeker, Princess, and Fairline. Over the years, we have welcomed more than 22 Fairline yachts into our fleet, ranging from 34 to 78 feet (10 to 23 meters). But we did not stop there—innovation has always been a part of our DNA.
After ordering our first boats, we took over the full-service facility at Marina Kremik in Primošten to ensure a fixed base and pristine maintenance for every charter yacht.
In 1997, we expanded our fleet with our first Elan sailing boats, marking the start of a journey from Slovenia to our base in Primošten. This also gave birth to the NCP Spring Apostles regatta, a yearly event that still thrives today.
Expanding Horizons
The 2000s were a time of significant changes and milestones.
In 2001, NCP Charter became the official and exclusive dealer for the high-performance Grand Soleil yachts, creating a fleet that was—and still is — unique, not only in Croatia but globally. Our Grand Soleil charter fleet attracts sailing enthusiasts looking for genuine sailing performance.
As we continued to innovate, we made a bold move in 2004 by relocating our base from Marina Kremik in Primošten to the town of Šibenik. This transition allowed us to take over part of the old military shipyard and transform it into Croatia’s first marina for mega yachts.
This move not only revolutionized Šibenik’s nautical tourism but also brought luxury yachting to Croatia on a global scale.
The formation of the NCP Group followed, with five main companies—NCP Charter, NCP Marina Mandalina, NCP Refit Shipyard, NCP Marinetek, and NCP Service—making us the true hub of nautical business in Croatia.
Growing the Fleet, Expanding Partnerships
In 2006, NCP Charter’s partnership with Dufour yachts began, with the addition of models like the Dufour 365, Dufour 385, and Dufour 455.
The NCP Charter brand continued to grow, and in 2012, NCP Charter joined forces with Pina & Mare, forming a much larger fleet with over 80 yachts, including bareboat motorboats, sailing yachts, catamarans, crew yachts and skippered boats..
Eventually, NCP Marina Mandalina was sold to D-Marin Group and NCP Refit Shipyard to Iskra Shipyard while in 2012.
Our commitment to excellence did not stop there. In 2013, we launched the RYA training center in Croatia, in cooperation with chief instructor Eddy Coenen. Our RYA sailing school was the only one offering courses for sailing, motorboats, tenders, and VHF in one place. Not only did this initiative help create new charter clients, but it also trained many new crew members, ensuring that we remain part of the global standard for maritime education.
Innovation Continues
In recent years, we’ve continued to expand our fleet with prestigious new brands.
In 2017, we started adding Marex boats to our fleet—the most awarded brand of medium-sized family motorboats today. We also became the exclusive dealer for Marex in Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia.
And now, as we celebrate our 30th anniversary, three more prestigious brands have entered our portfolio:
- Exquisite Pardo yachts from the Grand Soleil, Cantiere del Pardo family
- Norwegian quality-built Ibiza boats
- Fountaine Pajot catamarans, for which we are now the official brand partner, just as we are for Dufour sailing boats.
These brands represent the highest standards in craftsmanship, design, and performance, and we are proud to offer them to our clients.
This variety means we can match the perfect boat either to your holiday or ownership expectations—whether it’s fast performance sailing, comfortable family motorboats, or spacious catamarans.
As we continue our journey, we also remain mindful of our responsibility to the environment. Our commitment to sustainability was solidified when we joined the Green Sail initiative, and we will continue to work toward a greener future.
A New Chapter: A Look at Our Updated Brand
As part of our 30th-anniversary celebrations, we have updated our logo, bringing back the iconic orange color from our original 1995 design. This vibrant color is also a nod to the beautiful Šibenik region, which carries orange as its official color. It’s a perfect reflection of our roots, our legacy, and our ongoing commitment to providing exceptional experiences for our clients.
